Tips On Cleaning Small Appliances
The small appliances in our home work hard on our behalf. Because of that they can get dirty over time. Unfortunately, they’re not always the easiest items to clean. So, here are some helpful cleaning tips for those hard working small appliances.
Many blenders can go in the dishwasher, but if the dishwasher is full or if the blender requires a more delicate cleaning method what can you do? Fortunately, cleaning a blender can be pretty quick and simple. Fill the blender halfway with warm water, add some liquid dish soap, and turn on the blender for a few seconds. Then, rinse the blender thoroughly and turn it upside down to dry.
Your garbage disposal is another hard working appliance that can begin to smell as food particles can remain trapped at the bottom. You can turn the blender on, pour 1 cup of vinegar in the disposal, and then turn on cold water and let it run for a few minutes. This should help reduce the smell. You can also grind up orange or lemon peels with hot running water. Either way, the odors emanating from your garbage disposal will be taken care of and you will be able to more completely enjoy your kitchen.
Microwave ovens are the undisputed MVP of your kitchen. From heating up soup and drinks to reheating meals, microwaves perform all sorts of important jobs. However, they often end up with food or drink particles all over their interior. In order to clean them, you can try two things. First, use a sponge dipped in a solution of water and baking soda to clean the inside. Or, you can cover spills with a damp paper towel, turn on high for ten seconds, and wipe when cool. Either technique will help you keep your microwave spick and span.
