All Natural Cleaning
There are a lot of great cleaning products on the market today. Most of them do an outstanding job. However, sometimes situations arise in your home and you may not have the product you need to handle the job. Perhaps someone spills something on your carpet or your pet makes a mess. Perhaps you have a bathroom issue or dirty floors. Here are some tips to handle situations using everyday items that you will already very likely have lying around your house.
Baking soda is a wonderfully useful product. It can help you unclog drains when combined with salt and boiling water. By pouring ½ cup of salt and ½ cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by boiling water, and then a flush of hot tap water, you can clear out your drains. Baking soda can also be used to remove black scuff marks from a floor. You can rub a paste created with baking soda and water on the marks to remove them. Baking soda can also be used to clean your microwave. Using a sponge dipped in a solution of baking soda and water is a great way to get the inside of your microwave looking brand new again. Finally, baking soda can also be used to remove mold on your shower curtain. Simply apply it to the area and let it do the rest!
Vinegar is another multi-purpose option to help you clean in a pinch. If you own a pet, you know that they sometimes have accidents in the home. If your dog or cat pee on the carpet, you can use white vinegar to clean the area. After blotting the urine, apply clean, lukewarm water, a solution of ½ cool water and ½ white vinegar, blot, and then rinse with clean water. White vinegar can also be used to remove water spots. Simply sponge the spots with white vinegar, let it remain, and then rinse.
When you need to clean something but don’t have the right product, don’t worry. You can use what you have in your own home to effectively handle the situation. In addition to baking soda and vinegar, laundry detergent, salt, and club soda are items that can be used in place of traditional cleaning products.
